Our Statement of Faith
the Bible
We believe that the 66 books of the Bible (Genesis to Revelation) is the whole supernaturally inspired word of God. We believe that it is without error and is the Christian’s guide for all matters of faith and practice. We also believe that the KJV is the perfectly preserved word of God for the English speaking people and it what is used for our teaching and preaching.

God
We believe that there is one and only one, living and true God. That he is infinite and that he is the supreme creator and ruler of heaven and earth. He is worthy of all mankind’s honor and praise and that God the Father is part of the trinity.

THE Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine part of the trinity, that He is equal with God the Father and God the Son, that He was active in Creation and that He restrains the devil until God’s purpose is fulfilled. He convicts of sin and of judgement and righteousness. He bares witness to the Truth of the Gospel in preaching and testimony. He seals, endues, guides, teaches, witnesses, sanctifies and helps the believers.

THE DEVIL
We believe that Satan was once holy and that he enjoyed the splendors of Heaven, but through pride and ambition to be God he fell and drew with him a host of angels. He is now the “prince of the power of the air” and seeks to destroy what God loves. We believe that he is destined to be defeated by Christ and be placed for all eternity in the Lake of Fire.

CREATION
We believe in the literal Genesis account of creation that God created the world and all that is therein in six literal twenty-four hour days and then rested on the seventh day. That God created man in his own image and likeness, that man is not a result of evolution or evolutionary processes.

THE FALL OF MAN
We believe that man was created complete and without sin by God, but because of choices made fell from perfection into sin, and the consequences of that sin is death, eternal separation from God.

SALVATION
We believe that sin separates us from God, and that a price must be paid for that sin. That Jesus Christ came and died on a cross, rose the third day and sits on the right hand of the father. We believe that in order to be saved one must be born again by the grace of God, and that this grace is a gift given by God that must be accepted by man. We believe that whosoever may come, meaning that God does not choose certain people to Heaven or Hell, but has extended his grace to all and that each person must choose to repent of their sins and accept or reject God’s gift of salvation.

THE CHURCH
We believe that the independent Baptist Church is a congregation of Saved and Baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship of the gospel. We believe the mission of the church is the Great Commission. We believe that the Church has the right to self government, free from interference of individuals or organizations; and that the only superintendent is Christ.
Acts 2:41-42, 1 Corinthians 11:2, Ephesians 1:22-23, Acts 14:23, Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 5:23-24, 1 Peter 5:1-4

BAPTISM & THE LORD'S SUPPER
We believe that there are two ordinances the church is given to observe. That baptism is the full immersion in water done in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. That baptism does not save a person, but is an outward profession of an inward decision to identify with Christ as a child of God. The Lord’s supper is done in remembrance of the price that Christ paid on the Christ to redeem fallen man to the Father.

THE RETURN OF CHRIST
We believe in the imminent Return of Jesus Christ to earth to rapture his saints, before the tribulation begins. That the “dead in Christ shall rise first”, and we “shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump”. We do not confuse this rapture with the Second coming of Christ which will happen after the tribulation period when Christ comes to set up his millennial reign.
